Mark C. Hamer is a Providence-based attorney licensed to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He represents individuals, families, fiduciaries, business owners and companies in matters involving estate administration, estate planning, probate and trust disputes, business and contract conflicts, real estate interests and civil litigation.
Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Syracuse University in 2006 and his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2011. Before establishing his independent practice, he worked with Providence law firms handling estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianships, real estate matters, business issues and litigation. That varied experience allows him to approach legal problems with an understanding of both the underlying transaction and the disputes that can develop when relationships or agreements break down.
Mark works directly with his clients throughout the representation. He believes effective legal advice begins with identifying what matters most to the client, explaining the available options in understandable terms and developing a strategy proportionate to the problem. Some matters are best addressed through careful planning or focused negotiation. Others require decisive action in court. In either situation, Mark emphasizes candid advice, responsive communication and careful attention to the practical consequences of each decision.
Technology is an important part of Mark’s practice. He uses modern systems to communicate efficiently, organize information and avoid unnecessary overhead, while preserving the individual attention clients expect from their attorney. Clients communicate directly with Mark rather than being passed between layers of staff.
Mark has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rhode Island Rising Star in 2017 and from 2019 through 2024 in connection with his estate and trust litigation practice. He was also recognized with a Rhode Island Monthly Professional Excellence in Law award in 2019.
